To say that 11 year old Rylan Johnson and 10 year old Jack Fazzari are
unique for their age is an understatement. They appear to be average
grade five students at first glance, but this dynamic duo are also the
founders of Good Ideas Inc., a fundraising business they started to
help support the Welland Hospital Foundation. Rylan and Jack
publish and sell newspapers as well as organize various fundraising
events in their Welland neighbourhood, donating 100% of the
proceeds back to their local hospital. Jack says they both want to be
business owners in the future. “But no matter
what we do in the future, even if it doesn't
involve being in business, we still hope to
raise money for the hospital,” says Rylan. PenFinancial believed that
these two well-spoken, community minded young men were off to
a great start so they recognized them through the Random Acts of
Kindness Program. PenFinancial was happy to support Jack and
Rylan’s fundraising efforts by providing them with a donation to
cover their newsprint expenses and creating a basket filled with
family games to use as a raffle prize. “PenFinancial has been so nice
and generous to us,” says Jack. But for PenFinancial, supporting Good
Ideas Inc. was simply cultivating the enthusiasm of young
entrepreneurs today in an effort to harvest a healthy social and
economic future.
