PenFinancial CEO Recognized with Credit Union Leadership Award
Congratulations to Bob Watson, PenFinancial Credit Union’s Chief Executive Officer who was awarded the 2009 Alan Marantette Manager of the Year Award. Bob humbly accepted this distinguished award at the Credit Union Managers’ Association’s Annual Conference in Alliston, Ontario on Monday, September 21st.
The Alan Marantette Manager of the Year Award, named after a credit union system leader, is designed to recognize those managers who exemplify a high standard of leadership and service to credit unions, their members and communities. The successful candidate is selected based on the contribution of the individual to serve those around them.
“This award is particularly meaningful because it is a reflection of the dedication and commitment that all of our employees and board members have to building strong, meaningful relationships with our members and our community.” said Watson. “I am also very honoured that the nomination was submitted by my peers and colleagues.” he continued. “This makes the award all the more special”.
Bob Watson has provided outstanding leadership throughout his career with PenFinancial. He goes above and beyond expectations and is committed to achieving success, both financially and in all non-financial aspects, including ensuring that the credit union provides exceptional financial advice and service to its members and that employees have a sense of pride and ownership and enjoy coming to work each day.
When Bob first started with the credit union over 25 years ago, the assets were less than $10 Million. Today, PenFinancial is a strong community credit union with assets exceeding $235 Million and a compliment of 50 employees. The transformation of a once modest credit union into the PenFinancial Credit Union today is a testament to Bob’s outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to build and strong a viable credit union.
