Empire Public School gets a Staff Room Makeover!
PenFinancial Credit Union and Empire Public School have enjoyed a “business-to-school partnership” since 1996. Over the years, we've witnessed, first hand, how the teachers, along with their Principal are so remarkably committed to helping students get the most out of each school day. The dedicated group of staff at Empire put in many extra hours with literacy, numeracy and character development programs, not to mention extracurricular activities.
So who better than the staff at Empire Public School to receive PenFinancial's first inaugural "Random Act of good4you!"
The “Mini Staffroom Makeover” began Friday, March 7, as soon as all the teachers left at the end of the school day. PenFinancial Credit Union staff, family and friends rolled up their sleeves to clean, paint and decorate the once stark staff room.
When teachers returned to work on Monday, the staffroom was blocked off with caution tape. Teachers thought the room was filled with asbestos. Later on in the morning, the staff room makeover was unveiled, and the teacher's were pleasantly surprised.
New paint, decorations, new dishes and furniture, along with new cupboards and countertops (supplied by the board) and plants that were donated from the Welland Flower Shop helped to make the staff room a more relaxing and comfortable place for the teachers.
