Need to send money to someone? Or better yet, receive money from someone? INTERAC® Email Money Transfers
are a simple, convenient and secure way to send and receive money no matter what the occasion.
An alternative to cash and cheques, INTERAC® Email Money Transfers enable you to send money to anyone
with an email address and bank account in Canada – without sharing any personal or financial information.
With INTERAC® Email Money Transfers, your money never actually travels by email. Email is only used to
notify the recipient of the pending transfer and to provide him/her with instructions on how to deposit the money.
You access the service through your online banking and all funds are transferred directly from one bank account
to another, using established and secure banking procedures, including a security question for that added
peace-of-mind.
As the recipient, you'll receive an email notification when the transfer is sent, indicating the amount as well
as the instructions for depositing it. Click on the link, log in to online banking, select your account, hit
submit and the money is deposited into your account. It's that easy. As the sender, you'll receive an email
notification once the recipient has accepted the transfer.
PLEASE NOTE: As the INTERAC Email Money Transfer is integrated into our MemberDirect Online Banking service,
the new Services Agreement is presented to EVERYONE signing in to MemberDirect. You must 'Accept' the new Services
Agreement to continue to use MemberDirect Online Banking.
